Auto Repair in Bel Air, MD

Bel Air is the seat of Harford County, Maryland, home to just over 10,000 people. The town covers an area of about three square miles along U.S. Route 1, several miles north of Interstate 95.

Originally known as “Scott’s Old Fields,” Bel Air was part of a land grant issued to Daniel Scott in 1731. In 1782 “Belle Aire” was designated the county seat. By the turn of the 20th century, the town’s spelling had been changed to what it remains today.

Bel Air has survived some unfortunate history. Several fires have hit over the years, first in 1900 and again in 1942. Yet another fire in 1972 destroyed much of Main Street and caused some $2 million in damage. For decades the Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad ran through town, until the tracks were dismantled in 1958. Today, Bel Air serves as Harford County’s center for governmental, educational, cultural, medical, and commercial institutions.
